We are studying the Life of Christ from a Jewish Perspective.
The purpose of our digging into God's word is to find out exactly what God says in His Word so we use it as the plumb line to evaluate what any teacher might say or author write in a commentary. We do use helpful additional resources like maps, dictionaries, etc to help us in our digging and interpreting what we learn.
The books we are using are:
1) The Life of Christ (A study for yourself bible study by Irving Jensen available used from Amazon.com and other such bookstores.)
2) A harmony of the Gospels (by A.T. Robertson also available used at Amazon but also available new.)
3) A Bible
Optional but recommended are:
1. A good Atlas such as: The Moody Atlas of Bible Lands by Barry Beitzel (Available used and new)
or less expensive alternative is a good study manual called "The History and Geography of the Bible story"

2. A good Bible Dictionary such as Unger's Bible Dictionary.
Optional for those who are interested in the Old Testament foundation for our belief in Jesus.
3. Messianic Christology by Arnold G. Fruchtenbaum (A study of Old Testament Prophecy concerning the first coming of the Messiah.)Available from Ariel Ministries www.ariel.org and possibly elsewhere as well.
