Kingdom Churches

(posted April 7, 2008) Rounding out a three week talk on "the kingdom" Pastor Dion talks about what it means to be a "kingdom church." You surely don't want to miss history making, episode 17 of The Six!

The Kingdom-Part 1

(posted March 17, 2008-#15) It's Holy Week and we start a new discussion on "the kingdom." We've got a lot of churchy phrases that are centered on the word, but what does it mean? Pastor Dion just begins scratching the surface by starting off with a definition. After all, if you're going to talk about something, it's good to know what you're talking about, eh?

For next week, we're focusing the question down by asking, "What does it mean to be 'kingdom people'?"

Resourcing the Mission Part 3

(posted March 10, 2008) Pastor Dion is "just gettin' started" this week with episode 14 (even though he's wrapping up the three part series on "Resourcing the Mission.") So this week, you'll hear more about what the Bible says about how the Body of Christ should function together AND you'll hear about how the St. Matthew Summit went. That's right, all that PLUS a missional living treat.

Next week's topic is about "the kingdom." Please answer this if you could. "What do you think of when you hear talk about 'The Kingdom' [of God]?"

Resourcing the Mission Part 2

(posted March 3, 2008) More on resourcing the mission this week on The Six. Pastor Dion shares some of the awesome events leading up to Holy Week, talks about his cute kids, and says things about our responsibility to one another that would make Senator McCarthy roll over in his grave. All this week on lucky episode #13!

Resourcing the Mission Part 1

(posted February 26, 2008) As Christians, we're charged to continue the Mission of Jesus Christ until he returns and we're called to do it together. In episode 12 of The Six, the first part of a series on "Resourcing the Mission," Pastor Dion will say that resourcing the community's mission must also be a community endeavor. Next week's question brings further focus to this issue by asking,
"Can you imagine what the Mission would be like here if EVERY person were bringing to the table all that Christ apportioned to them?"

Keeping the 'Main Thing' the Main Thing

(Posted Feb 18, 2008) Keeping the "main thing" the main thing is the subject of this week's episode (#11) of The Six. Pastor Dion talks about that and also ponders the power of prayer AND bowling...oh yeah!

And don't forget, next week's question,
"How much responsibility do you feel (personally) for making sure that our mission is adequately resourced?"

The Inevitability of Pain in Relationships

(Posted February 12, 08) In episode 10 of The Six, Pastor Dion talks about relationships as painful, and yet also as essential for the missional life. Listen in for a lot of great community contributed thoughts, missional living examples (more than one!), and the awesome funky theme music.

Also chime in for next week's question,
"How can our church community best 'do life together' but not lose our focus on the point of it all?"

Prayer in the Missional Life

(posted February 5, 2008) In episode 9 of The Six, Pastor Dion talks about some of the "growing pains" that come with new expressions of community, but then focuses in on the essential role of Prayer if we're ever going to fully engage in missional living. He also introduces next week's topic which is all about how to keep community healthy...

"If relationships always carry the potential and the reality of pain, then how do we still keep them central?"

Strengths

(posted Jan 29, 2008) What makes you feel strong? Perhaps it is that exact thing that God intends to leverage for his mission in the world. That's what Pastor Dion talks about in episode 8 of The Six. He also looks to you for input on next week's topic, namely how prayer fits in to your pursuit of the missional life.

Relational Turn-Offs

(Episode 7-Posted Jan 21, 2008) We all have our "turn-offs" when it comes to relationships with people. So, what are the things that turn us off from going deeper with one another in the church? Pastor Dion tosses out a couple of relational turn-offs for you to consider in this week's episode. Plus hear some more ways that the community of St. Matthew is coming together to make a difference as God's people. Can't you just FEEL the excitement?
For next week, please begin pondering your strengths. Next week's topic is on the strengths you bring to the community of faith as we go after our mission together. Don't be shy, share your perspective for next week's episode!
